MARCHE Updates its name to be more inclusive

January 15th, 2024

In the late 90s, this association created as the Not-for-profit Long-Term Care Association of Manitoba. This semi-formal group meets monthly for the purpose of discussing common concerns and issues in health care, and advocating for its members. A new name and logo were developed in 2010 to reflect a wider range of services to include individuals residing in independent, assisted living, and supportive housing residences. This is when Manitoba Association of Residential and Community Care Homes for the Elderly was adopted.

Fourteen years later MARCHE decided that it was time to be more inclusive in its name since there is a fairly large population of residents living in continuing and long-term care who are under the age of 65, and some as young as 19 or 20 years old. As a result, MARCHE has made a modification to its name and logo by removing ‘For the Elderly’ and including the word ‘Everyone’.

Please take note of this and make the change to your contact information on this association.
